At Natural Smiles Dentistry, we are specially equipped to handle dental emergencies during the course of any given day. If you are a patient of record, call us, your Salt Lake City dentist anytime. We will do everything we can to help you. If you are not a current patient of record, but it’s during our usual patient hours, we can often see you the same day.
This could be caused by a lost filling or crown, a broken tooth, or infection. If you suspect any of these symptoms, call us right away. Don’t take aspirin or ibuprofen before you see your Salt Lake City dentist. These products can cause excessive bleeding.
Apply ice to the painful area for 10-20 minutes of every hour right away to alleviate the pain.
This is definitely a dental emergency. Save the broken piece and call your dentist for an appointment.
You have a 1-2 hour window in which your tooth has a chance for re-implantation – only your Salt Lake City emergency dentist can tell you for sure. Place the tooth’s pieces in a container and cover them with milk and rinse your mouth with warm water. Apply gauze to the area where the tooth is missing to stop the bleeding.
Contact your dentist right away. To relieve pain to the exposed part of your tooth apply clove oil (available over-the-counter in pharmacies and supermarkets). Just dip a cotton swab in clove oil and apply it to the exposed part of your tooth. Putting an ice pack on your face over the area that hurts also should relieve the pain.
Don’t wait. Contact us at Natural Smiles Dentistry for an emergency appointment by calling (801) 997-6655.
